Talkin’ Smack came about on a Sunday afternoon at The Bullpen. Well, sort of. For at least a year, Dan Miner, Hank Pelton, RJ Stockdale and Mike Sullivan had talked about doing a podcast. But life just kept getting in the way. On that Sunday afternoon at The Bullpen, RJ said to Dan, “Danno, we gotta do that podcast. Let’s get it going”.

That lit a fire under Dan. He got home and texted both Hank and Seth Cooper. the wheels got turning. They figured they wanted to do a podcast the way it was when they were hanging out with the guys at The Bullpen.

Dan then got in touch with Sully and asked him if he was in. Sully said, “Yes”. Then Snacks & Dan got in touch with Coach, Jack Celeste. He said yes, too. The cast wasn’t set yet. Lat, but no least, Dan’s long-time right hand man at The Radio Ranch, John Pratt was added into the lineup and they were set to go.

The guys didn’t want to do a traditional podcast. They wanted to do things their way…A show they would watch.

The Bullpen - home of Talkin' SmackSo the podcast became more of a TV show than a traditional podcast. Cameras for these ugly mugs?

Why not.

Talkin’ Smack was born and organized within a matter of a couple of days.

The next thing up: Where to host this podcast/TV Show? Dan, Snacks and RJ then talked with Paulie and Pam Bricoccoli from The Bullpen. They immediately said, “sounds good. You can host the show here.” The Bullpen is Home Base for the crew and seemed like a natural fit, but Paulie & Pam had no idea what The Talkin’ Smack Crew were going to do.

When the folks at the Bullpen found out the scope of the production, it was an eye opener!

Talkin’ Smack continues to put out shows, the way The Talkin’ Smack Crew does.

Their way.

Snacks got to selling advertising for Talkin’ Smack, Dan started purchasing equipment and Seth started getting the technical stuff done. After all of that, Hank took care of the legal stuff to get us legit. Within a matter of weeks, practice shows were being done! From the initial 3-man shows up to the full cast of 7, the shows started getting out and getting better.

Week 1 of Talkin’ Smack struck on Cabbage Night 2024, upstairs at The Bullpen and there’s been no looking back since. Newer equipment, different segments and even Family Feud – Talkin’ Smack Style.

Talkin’ Smack continues to grow and move forward with the latest edition of The Talkin’ Smack Crew, Andy Camp from Andy Camp Graphics and Photography, moving the show forward with an ongoing digital presence.
